A mixture of wilderness adventure at its true best, this taxing trek has its rewards in some of the most awesome scenery ever beheld anywhere on earth. Mera Peak is geographically based in the Makalu Barun National Park that physically stands on the edge of the Khumbu region. At a height of 6476m this is one of Nepal's most notable trek peaks & presents some fantastic commanding views that are considered the best in Nepal's Himalayas. The vistas are stunning as we take in Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Kangchenjunga, Ama Dablam, Chamlang & Mt. Baruntse…all of these peaks make up some of the best in the world…to view & climb, if you have the grit & the experience. Given what it is in accordance with its height, Mera peak is pretty easy & doable for climbing even for those with no climbing experience at all, but you've got to be trim & fit…& happy-go-lucky to truly enjoy this climb; one must be positive in accepting challenges to a peak of substance, but then you don't have to worry because you will be in the company of a highly competent & experienced guide who'll be with you all the way & supported by a team of porters who are equally efficient in their jobs. Mera peak gears you up for going through the technically difficult Amphu Lapcha pass {also known as Amphu Labtsa}.

On peaking at Mera Peak, we plod on to the tough Amphu Lapcha pass which is real tricky due to its steepness; we ascend the Amphu Lapcha pass with the protection of fixed ropes over a straight-cut icefall & the descent has to be made by a short abseil onto a broad snow terrace. Without removing the high that we get after scaling Mera peak which is a challenging feat offering us fantastic views, we can't write off Amphu Lapcha which is definitely not a cake walk but then crossing this pass which is technically more demanding becomes a real thrilling aim for adventurous trekkers looking for the cutting edge of wilderness exploration. Our venture up Mera peak & across Amphu Lapcha cuts across some attractive territory because we hike through cultivated settlements with a lot of pleasant greenery & some lovely alpine forests. We've planned your program in such a way that you get some real needed acclimatization which is important, but the spots that we've chosen to give you the right kind of acclimatization is perhaps more important because there's so much to view & this prevents us from remaining idle which is not good when doing high altitude climbing.

Once we've done with the tough Amphu Lapcha, we enter the Sagarmatha National Park and begin to notice the wonderful changes in the territory we've hiked through in the course of our venture. Our return to Lukla is via the Imja Khola and Dudh Koshi river valleys, which takes us through the original route when climbers head for Mt. Everest. We relish the truly superb views of the west side of Ama Dablam at (6856m), and pass through the lively settlements of Tengboche, which has a major monastery, and the same-old Namche Bazaar, that tickles our throats & bodies with excitement, when heading up or heading down…because Namche seems to be the beacon of light that takes us to those dizzy heights & finally brings us down to earth…
