Kapan Monastery

 

Kapan Monastery is situated in Kathmandu at the hill south of Boudha which is one of the most popular destinations for Tibetan Buddhism. Every year Buddhist from different parts of world visit this monastery for studying Buddhism or for meditating. It was founded by Lama Thubten Yeshe who died in 1984. Kapan monastery contains a library, spacious garden and a restaurant. One can also walk for less than an hour along the ridge of Kapan Monastery to visit the Phulbari Monastery which is situated in a hill higher than Kapan.
