Lo Manthang

Lo Manthang is an ancient kingdom situated in the Upper Mustang area of Nepal that offers beautiful landscape, Himalayan views, Tibetan culture and ancient monasteries. It’s not been too many years that has been opened for trekkers. Though opened now, it’s still a restricted area and needs proper permits from Nepal government for getting there. Lo Manthang is also called the forbidden kingdom and is situated at north of the Himalayas on Tibetan Plateau. It’s a rare privilege to trek to this region which is suitable even in monsoon because of the Himalayan rain shadow. The green vegetation stands as a compliment to the rugged desert in Lo Manthang which is windy and dusty throughout the year.
