Palpa

Palpa is one of the "off-the-beaten-track" destinations of Nepal that lies in the midway between the Indian border and Pokhara. The main attractions of Palpa is the old artistic Newari houses in the town named Tansen. Palpa is the hub of mid - west culture of Nepal that has been strongly influenced by traditional Newari architecture.  Palpa with its diverse culture and religion can be visited at any time of the year. Though today's migration movement due to urbanization brings people from all ethnic groups to Tansen, the Newari people still make up a high percentage of the population in the core area.
