Flying in to the Himalayan nation Nepal is different in itself. Witness the towering Himalayan giant’s minutes before landing Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu if the weather permits. Enjoy the cordial Nepalese welcome in arrival terminals of the airport and drive to your designated hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02:: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu
Actually this day is a trek preparation day. As our team is preparing the required permits for Everest Base Camp Trek; you will be taken to Kathmandu most beautiful locales where culture history and the heritage of the ancient town spills in every corner. Explore the biggest hub of Hinduism in Nepal Pashupatinath where travelers get to experience the important aspects of the religion. Stroll around Boudhanath, a large dome shaped stupa where Tibetan culture and Buddhism are seen at its best. Exploration of Kathmandu Durbar Square is an awesome experience as it takes you to Nepal’s one of the oldest architectural landmarks where local Newari culture also has been prospering for ages.
Day 03:: Drive to Arughat [4-5] hour’s drive and transfer to the hotel
After the early morning breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel reception by a private vehicle. Your trek guide will accompany you. Arughat is a village located at Gorkha district of western Nepal, which is a starting point of the trek. After travelling a part of Prithivi highway, the road to Arughat deviates to north. The time in the vehicle will be well utilized by your trek leader briefing about the trial. Upon reaching at Arughat, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 04:: Trek to Soti Khola 860m/2840ft 5-6 hrs trek
Enjoy the breakfast at your hotel in Arughat. As your trek begins, initially you will cross past the dense woods bursting with monkeys to Sante Bazaar 630m. The view of Shringi Himal up the valley from Sante Bazaar is exceptionally enticing. As you trek further, the Budi Gandaki valley now becomes steeper and the trial becomes tougher as it crosses Arket Khola and climbs through fields and over a rocky projection. Gradually descending down to the elevated and gushing waterfall and the trial makes a long sheer effort up to a ridge of Koir Pani 820m. Beyond Koir Pani the trial then slides down to Sati Khola 710m. Sati Khola is an ideal location to observe the varied sized waterfalls and also popular for traditional honey hunting as shown in a documentary named Honey hunters of Nepal. Release your first day exhaustion in a tea house at Sati Khola.
Day 05:: Trek to Machha Khola 869mm/2781ft 5 to 6 hrs trek
As you fulfill your early morning appetite at a breakfast table, you will resume the trek. Today you will begin the trek crossing the bridge and sliding up onto a ridge above rushing Budi Gandaki River. Then you will climb up to Khorsani at 820m. The trial then gets bit exciting while it passes over the big rock and cross a stream over a shaky wooden bridge. The rocky trail continues merging several ups and downs, passes two tropical waterfalls till it comes back down to the field terraces at the bank of Budi Gandaki. Once again, sliding up on a steep rocky course hanging to the side of the cliff, then sliding down to pass few more rice patios and finally a gradual up around climb will bring you to Machha Khola. Overnight at Machha Khola.
Day 06:: Trek to Jagat 1,360m/4460ft 5 to 6 hrs trek
Taking a bypass route over suspension bridge to cable ropeway spanned over Budi Gandaki the trial makes en- route to Khola Besi along the stream in a rocky ravine. Conquering the very steep climb, a series of ups and downs will bring you to Tatopani. Climbing over the ridge beyond Tatopani then crossing Budi Gandaki over a bridge one more up climb along the wide stairways on a ridge will finally bring you to Doban. Then we climb up on a rugged rocky trial to Duman. Further, you will climb up and down along the gorges and notched trees struggling to reach a big field. Continuing more ups and downs along the beaten gravel slopes and teetering rocks you will be listening to a soaring river deep down in the clutter huge rocks. Crossing the ridge, you will enter the widen river valley and descend down to serene Budi Gandaki then get to Yaru Khola 1330m- a village at a river bank. Crossing a long suspension bridge over Yaru Khola and sliding up on a wide stony staircase will take you down to the river. Climbing up once again along the Thado Bharyang, crossing Budi Gandaki followed by climbing up a small ridge then finally a short walk along the river will bring you Jagat 1410m. Jagat is a beautiful village to settle down for a night.
Day 07: Treks to Deng 1,860m/6100ft 6 to 7 hours trek
Time for hopping-hop on the rocks across Bhalu Khola to the other side is a great experience. Then you will begin an up climb on a rocky ridge to Salleri. Up climb on the side of the cliff and gradual descending trial will bring you to the first Tibetan influenced Gurung village of the region Setibas (Tara) 1430m. Continuing up across the widen valley and crossing the pebbled stream you will arrive to Ghatta Khola. Following the upstream climb to a long bridge resembling the Golden Gate Bridge at San Francisco, the trial heads to the eastern side of the river. A slide up crossing the bridge will bring you to the large Gurung village Philim 1550m. The up climb trial through the village will lead to the Base Camp of Ganesh Himal and Tsum valley behind it. However, the Manaslu trial turns north on a fairly leveled trial to Serson.
The trial to Deng from Serson enters to the secluded gorges. Descending along the verdant slopes marked with soaring pine trees, you will cross Budi Gandaki River on a bridge. As you cross the bridge the trail moves along the cliff climbing over the ridges and descending back to riverbed. As the trial moves high up to western side the valley widens and offers a lovely walk along the bamboo woodlands to Deng Khola and Deng village.
Day 08:: Trek to Ghap 2100m
A short walk from Deng will re-cross Budi Gandaki to northern bank near Rana 2000m. Beyond the bridge, a slight climb will head west up to Budi Gandaki valley. A bit leveled trial will lead to stairways climb passing a waterfall. Contouring up and out along the canyon in Budi Gandaki valley brings you to the tranquil lake form of Budi Gandaki in a dam made by bunch of rocks which is outstanding. Then the trial whirrs in and out from two ravines followed by a steep up climb to Shiringi Khola valley. Crossing Shiringi Khola, then climbing high to traverse Budi Gandaki between vertical rock walls and the frequent ups and downs through forests and Mani walls depicting Buddha’s image will bring you to Ghap. Traversing a bridge you will arrive to southern Ghap 2100m for the well earned dinner and rest.
Day 09:: Trek to Lho 3,180m/10430ft 4 to 5 hours trek
Enjoying the breakfast feast, pass more Mani stones traverse through the fields and enter the woods. Along the lively forest full with firs and chirping danfes- Nepalese national bird head towards furiously rushing Tom Khola flowing in a deep Tibetan gorge. Traversing along the sloppy trial which includes adventurous fun like, rock-hopping march, mud holes, deep firs and rhododendron forests, bridges lacking the handrails and rocky caves you will finally climb on a stone archway and cross passing the high altitude mountainous village Shrip we arrive to the large village Lho 3100m with Gompa.
Day 10:: Trek to Samagaon 3,450m/11316ft 5 to 6 hours trek
From Lho the trial descends down to cross the bridge over Damonan River. Beyond the bridge after a climb along the north fork of the river and through the soggy forest the trial finally emerges onto a plateau of Shya 3520m. The village provides the vista of Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli and Manaslu. Then crossing the stream we enter the rock-strewn moraine. Mount across the rocks and come forth onto a ridge overtopping the widespread pastures and countryside of Samagaon. Sama Gompa is seeable in a distance cuddled against the arborous moraine at the far end of the valley. Walk across the fields of wheat and buckwheat past the chorten to a large yellow kani and beyond kani Samagaon nestles at 3530m. Passing through the set of Mani stones and walking through the village is immersing oneself into the cultural affluence of uniquely located Samagaon.
Day 11:: Rest day Samagaon
A rest day Samagaon is essential for the proper acclimatization. However, you can utilize the day climbing the ridge to the south of Samagaon to a hidden Gompa behind the ridge facing Manaslu- Pungyen Gompa.
Day 12:: Trek to Samdo 3,860m/12660ft 3 to 4 hours trek
Start the trek down to Budi Gandaki which now changes its flow towards north again, along the side stream get to the bridge. The left trial there leads to Manaslu Base Camp then onwards the valley widens. Along the easy trial with the improvising views of Manaslu and its vicinity trek along the river through the juniper and birch forest to Khemo Kharka. Slide down to cross the river and climb steeply onto a headland between the two forks of the river. After a long walk Samdo 3860m is achieved nestling behind the ridge. A major trade route to Tibet heads east beyond Samdo over the Lajyang La Pass 5098m. The Himalayas in the region begin to sparkle much better from Samdo.
Day 13:: Trek to Larkya Phedi 4,460m/14628ft 3 to 4 hours trek
Begin the trek sliding down on a gentle trial passing several fields to an old Mani wall and stone arcades. Descend further down to a baby Himalayan river to cross the bridge over it at 3850m. On one of the Mani walls on the other side marks the beginning of climbing Larkya La Pass. Climb along the juniper forest opposite to Larkya glacier falling from Manaslu. The trial becomes tougher with elevation. At the top of the ridge you will witness trial crossing two large ravines and it becomes steeper. The trail goes beyond 4000m where there is view point at the end of the huge gorge. Feast with your eyes with the glorious views of Himalayan ranges of the region. Finally after in and out of the gorge the trial leads you the shelter on the course to a Larkya La pass at 4480m.
Day 14:: Cross Larkya La Pass 5,135m/19842ft & trek to Bimthang to 3,590m/11811ft. Time 7 to 8 hours trek
Eventually the trek today begins very early towards Larkya La Pass with a long calm climb. Then crossing a small ridge a slight descent will bring you to the lake then an up climb will bring you to the top of the moraine at 4700m. The trial now becomes even steeper along the grassy slopes. Soon, the prayer flags on the pass become distantly visible. As you make a final steep climb after slightly sliding down to four frozen lakes, you will be at the pass at 5100m. Three to four hours of trek from the Larkya rest house will bring you to the pass. The west view from the pass is amazingly mesmerizing. Manaslu 8156m, Himlung Himal 7126m, Cheo Himal 6820m, Gyaji Kung, Kang Guru 6981m and Annapurna II 7937m glitter like huge heaps of silver from the point. Dropping straight away 650m down in about an hour along the harsh steep slope, the comfortable trail starts to a small spring at 4080m. As the trial takes a corner, the valley becomes wider heading to a large meadow at Bimtang 3720m.
Day 15:: Trek to Dharapani 1,860m/6,102ft 4 to 5 hours trek
You will resume your trek sliding down to cross the bridge over the glacial stream of Dudh Khola. Then climb over the side of a moraine followed by drop in to a pine and rhododendron forest to Hompuk 3430m. The easy sliding down walk to the riverbed of Dudh Khola follows to the forest at 3030m then to the enclosed fields of Karche 2700m. Trekking on the steep S shaped ridge beautified with prayer flags upwards will be followed by steep sweeping down to the river bank at 2580m. At a seeable distance the village of Gho 2560m boastfully stands with the striking view of Lamjung peak above Marsyangdi valley.
Continue along the north bank of Dudh Khola till Tilje 2300m, over a ridge. Now cross the river and continue trekking along the river bank. As the course slides down through the clean woods the wall of Marsyangdi valley appears larger. Crossing Dudh Khola over the bridge at 1930m and deviating left beyond Thonje, you will cross the bridge over Marsyangdi River to the upper Dharapani at 1860m.
Day 16:: Trek to Bhulbhule 1,430m/4690ft 5 to 6 hours trek
Traversing the major part of the trek in the vicinity of Marsyangdi and Kali Gandaki rivers today’s trek will most of the times descend downhill. Cross Marsyangdi River to Karte and cross it again to the village of Tal Besi 1580m. Then you will slide down along the rocky trial and cross Kali Gandaki River to get to Chyamje 1430m. Along the rocky trial and through bamboo forest and waterfalls you will get to the medieval village of Jagat at 1250m. Finally after a short but steep slide down alongside the rock cliffs of the river the trial we bring you to Syange 1190m. Descending down through the pleasant villages of Hani Gaon 1180m and Lili Danda. Climb along the gentle slope to Bahundanda 1310m. Then follow the gradual descending trail to Ngadi 880m. Enjoy the distant views of glorious Manaslu 8156m and Ngadi Chuli throughout the trial and slide down slowly to Bhulbhule 890m.
Day 17:: Trek to Besisahar & drive back to Kathmandu
Traverse through the village of Khudi at 790m, and cross past the subtropical forests and rice paddies for couple of hours trek. After a rock-hop across Bhalam Khola a steep slippery climb will bring you the open plain fields. A short rough rock staircase climb down will bring you to Denauti. Beyond Denauti a walk along the stream followed by a gentle up climb will bring you to Besi Sahar. Congratulations your trek ends here. Then, along the highway at the bank of Marsyangdi River you will arrive at Dumre in couple of hours or so. Then you will hit the road on the Prithivi highway towards Mugling from where you will travel along Trishuli River to Galchi. After covering the steep road through Thankot, finally you will enter Kathmandu. You will be escorted to your hotel room.
Day 18:: Depart Kathmandu
Our representative will escort to the airport for the final see off to your onward destination. Have a safe flight and visit Nepal time and again we have much more to show.
